Joanne Pizzino, MD, MPH, FACOEM, is a graduate of Ohio State Medical School. She completed residency training with the Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas.  Dr. Pizzino is diplomate certified in Integrative Medicine and also board-certified in Preventive/Occupational Medicine. She was board-certified in Family Medicine for 24 years. She is a Fellow of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. MPH stands for Master of Public Health from the University of Texas. She has helped empower people to heal themselves through Integrative Medicine since 1997.She has taught a Functional Matrix Medicine course at the University of North Carolina Program on Integrative Medicine since 2010. She is accreditied in Medical Acupuncture through UCLA. She certified as a Preventive Aging Health Coach through HealthCoachTraining and HealthCoachingU.

Dr. Pizzino approaches health care from a holistic paradigm that integrates mind, body and spirit in healing. In addition to over 20 years of clinical experience in treating occupational health concerns and other ambulatory problems, she now practices Integrative Medicine utilizing a variety of complementary and alternative therapies, including Medical Acupuncture, Reiki, Interactive Guided Imagery, Functional Matrix Medicine, condition-specific nutrition, vibrational medicine, and botanical medicine. A special interest is enhancing the effectiveness of allopathic therapies with mind-body and spiritual techniques. Her avocations include a passion for exploring the world's cultures, and the land and seas that surround them with her husband, exercise partner and best friend, Tom Davis.

Rachel Marvin, Medical Assistant, graduated with an Associates of Applied Science degree in Medical Assisting from Miller-Motte College. She is very passionate about caring for people which is one of the reasons she decided to join the medical field. She enjoys the outdoors and walking outside during the spring and summer months. Rachel has a toddler at home who she says is her motivation. He’s what pushed her to follow her dream of becoming a healthcare professional
Tom Davis, our Operations Manager and Effective Exercise Coach, studied business at UNC, and has owned and operated several successful businesses, including three health clubs. Tom holds 19 world-records in Powerlifting, and has coached hundreds of people to greater fitness with the GRAB program ("Guaranteed Results And Benefits”). Tom actively pursues Preventive Aging strategies for himself, and in his spare time, builds elegant, award-winning custom homes.
Lisa Burdett, MA, Ondamed Biofeedback, offers Holistic Health Counseling and Wellness Coaching that empowers individuals to create happy, meaningful, balanced lives, and healthy, vibrant bodies.  She helps clients to achieve true health and wellness by uncovering and clearing old patterns of belief and behavior that have been blocking energy, vitality, and clarity.  Once these patterns are cleared and replaced with intentional, healthy habits, subtle shifts will occur, and can result in profound changes in all aspects of life.  Some of these areas include physical health, relationships, work/life balance, and the ability to create sustained happiness.
Lisa holds a Master of Arts in Holistic Wellness and is a Certified Wellness Coach and Holistic Health Counselor. She has been helping others to live Healthy and Well for over 10 years.

Karen Saylor, FNP-BC, is a board-certified nurse practitioner. She  earned her basic degree in nursing studies (BSN), at Duke University on a 4 year gymnastics scholarship. Her past experience as an RN for over 30 years has been in Neonatal Intensive Care, Public health, and the final 15 years were spent working in ENT and Allergy.  After working as an RN for 30 years, following a Medical Mission trip to Honduras, she went back to graduate school at UNC Chapel Hill in NC, earning her Masters degree in Nursing, and graduated with top honors as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2012.

Karen has many years of experience specializing in allergy, food sensitivities, thyroid conditions, chemical and mold toxicities. She trained in Low Dose Allergy Therapy (LDA).

Karen has special expertise in women’s issues, including nutrition and weight loss counseling, testing and treatments for micronutrient deficiencies, food sensitivities, contraception maintenance, and is also experienced in Obstructive Sleep Apnea, (OSA)  Benign Positional Vertigo (BPPV), IBS, thyroid disorders, and Candida overgrowth.

Karen brings her background in Functional and Integrative Medicine to Whole Health Solutions where she focuses on the Whole Body for wellness. She utilizes integrative methods for healing, including detoxification, stress reduction, weight loss/nutrition, gut inflammation and healing, and natural blood sugar balancing.

Volunteer activities include working at The Samaritan Health Center.
Karen also is a certified Yoga Hatha, Prenatal and Pilate’s instructor presently teaching at the Downtown Durham YMCA.
